The theme for the Fourth of July celebration at Avon Hall in Washington will be “For God and Country.” William Carrigan said that the festivities will be “in the spirit of celebration for the peace and freedom we are privileged to have in our time.”
For the 25th consecutive year, Mr. and Mrs. Carrigan are “extending a cordial welcome to all the people of Rappahannock to join them in a grand celebration of music and fireworks on the hills of Avon Hall.”
This year a special invitation is being issued to all the churches in Rappahannock, Mr. Carrigan said. All choirs and singing groups—formal or informal—are being invited to join in a songfest of sacred and patriotic music before the fireworks.
