He married Charlotte Dicker on April 10, 1971.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Sherry Boone of Amissville, Trecia Lee Payne of Nokesville and Barbara Jean Davis of Fayetteville, N. C., and a son William Douglas Payne, at home.
Additional survivors include a sister Bernice Ellis of Dale City, six brothers, Dennis Payne of Leesburg, Walter Payne and Roger Payne of Bluemont, Thomas Payne of Round Hill, Gene Payne of Hamilton and Larry Payne of Berry ville, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted June 11 at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester, by Pastor Dean Cover. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park Cemetery, Frederick County.
Pallbearers were Thomas Payne, Walter Payne, Larry Payne, Roger Payne, Hampton Thomas and Roy Bragg.
Clyde Woodard
Clyde Haywood Woodard, 75, of Amissville, died June 2 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Chester Gap.
Mr. Woodard was a native of Rappahannock County, a retired landscaper and a member of Massanova Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Susie Brown Woodard, a daughter Ella Mae Pullen of Amissville, three sons, Samuel D. Woodard of Nokesville, Clyde R. Woodard and Milton E. Woodard, both of Amissville.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Wilbur Woodard and Wesley Woodard, both of Amissville, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted June 6 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home, Culpeper, by the Rev. L. D. Savage. Interment was at the Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Samuel Woodard II, Scott Woodard, Bill Zsambok, Ken Foster, Rick Woodard and Wayne Woodard.
