Miss Jean Fairbanks Merrill is making quite a name for herself in the literary world. She is the niece of Mr. L. V. Merrill and visited often here as a child. Although she was brought up in Webster, N. Y. she now lives in Manhattan. She writes books for young people which have been used by the New York School system and a number have been chosen by “The Book of the Month” clubs for junior readers.
Samuel Doran Snead, son of Judge and Mrs. R. V. Snead of Washington, Va., was a graduate of the class of 66 RandolphMacon Academy, Front Royal. He has attended RMA for three
years and held the rank of Sergeant. He plans to enter Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
