Mr. Timmons was born in Orange, one of 15 children whose mother is still alive, according to Mrs. Timmons. He worked at Virginia Metal Products (now Industries) in Orange “for over 20 years,” his sister-in-law said. “He was always joking with the guys at work . . . In all the years, I’ve never known him to so much as argue with anyone.”
“He lived a quiet life — an average family man. It’s so sad something like this could happen to a man.”
Mr. Timmons is survived by his wife Allie Woodward, a son, Gary Worth Timmons, a daughter, Gail T. Weakley of Etlan, and his mother, Mabel Kube Smith of Unionville.
