use as an example for next year’s class. The others would be salvaged for materials that could be used for other projects. Each group tried to make their module the best and impress the judges, Mrs. Biggs and Mr. Bomberger.
“I thought it was good for them to do this to learn new things but also to repeat things they knew before,” Mr. Vickers commented. “For instance when we built the sheds in the fall I tried to get everybody to nail shingles on but some people got more of it than others. So this time everybody got a chance to help.”
Student Tim Stringfellow was leader of his group of workers. Tim was selected by his peers to be leader because of his skills and knowledge. He said, “I had fun doing it and I could tell everybody else enjoyed it, too.”
“We laid tile and did interior trim. We had never done that before but I think I could lay a kitchen floor now. You just have to get it at the right angle and the intersecting lines have to line up,” Tim concluded.
Student Charles Slaughter thought the hardest thing was hooking the electrical wires together. “Now, I feel sure I could build a shed with electricity and plumbing,” he said proudly.
Mr. Vickers w'as pleased with the outcome of the sheds. He said, “The main thing is the students felt good about it. They knew what they were doing and they had plans to go by so I mainly just had to help them make
