“Please don’t tell me that we present the supervisors with an inflated budget,” said School Board Chairman Beverly Massie after hearing that county schools expect to close out the 1985-86 school year with less than a 0.5-percent surplus.
Mrs. Massie’s remarks were prompted by Superintendent Robert Estabrook’s projection that, after final pay-out in two weeks, an estimated $15,000 would remain of the almost $3 million allocated for the county’s schools in 1985-86.
