OA Norton will assume his
duties as Superintendent of Warren-Rappahannock Public Schools on July 1, at which time the resignation of Q. D. Gasque, who has been Superintendent for 16 years, becomes effective. However Mr. Gasque will remain through the month of July to assist Mr. Norton.
At the June meeting of the County Board of Supervisors held Wednesday, June 7, the major discussion centered on Civil Defense. Mr. Stanley N. Collins, the Regional Department Coordinator of the North Central Region, of C.D. was present to bring facts concerning a plan of survival in the event of nuclear warfare. Also Mr. Collins offered to outline a plan suitable for Rappahannock.
Charles E. Johnson, III of Sperryville, was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia at the graduation exercises held Sunday, June 4.
