There was one set of twins in the class.. Their names were Eggbert and Eggbertha. Both were model “children.”
“Tinky has big eyes like her father. He holds her a lot but he doesn’t change diapers,” lamented “parent” Molly Ubben.
Tracy Sutphin’s “little one” rested comfortably in its cradle while Tina Scheidigger’s Candice Christine was growing hair. Several of the students attached cotton to the top of the egg in order to cover the hole made when blowing out the yolk.
Susan Lesh was the only student with a toddler on her hands. “I think he was resentful of his baby sister because he couldn’t understand why she was there,” Susan explained.
Mrs. Mills described the purpose of the project. “We had been talking about being responsible, the problems mothers have when they go back to work, and how men’s and
women’s roles have changed. So I thought it was a good time to do something like this. I hope it gave them an idea of what it’s like to be
responsible for somebody else or to somebody else,” concluded Mrs. Mills.
