New manager
at W akefield

Wakefield School has hired Richard J. Waag to become its new business manager. He will succeed Gregory Monahan, who will be leaving that post at the end of June.
Mr. Waag, a native of New York City, is a graduate of Pohs Institute in New York, where he majored in business administration and real estate management. Until 1968, Mr. Waag worked for the American Express Company in New York as secretary of the corporation and assistant to the president and Chairman of the board.
Following his long employment with American Express, Mr. Waag was the staff assistant to the executive officer in charge of the newly organized Master Charge credit card department of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company.
In 1985, he joined the Quality Inn in Front Royal as general manager and assistant to the owner. Since the motel was sold, Mr. Waag has been semi-retired, living in Front Royal with his wife Beatrice. A self-described workaholic, Mr. Waag welcomes the challenges of Wakefield’s business management.
Wakefield’s Chairman of the Board Pamela Lynn reports that Mr. Waag comes to Wakefield with excellent reports from his former employers as well as impressive credentials in the field of administration and management.
