According to Borges several people suggested the hall of the Warrenton United Methodist Church and he was referred to C. H. “Buddy” Lawrence, chairman of the church’s board of trustees, who obtained the board’s approval for the Red Cross’ use of the hall.
“We see this as a community service,” said Lawrence. Since the church was dedicated two years ago the hall has been used mainly for church functions, he added. “But this is a specialized use for the good of the community.”
The Methodist church hall will be used by the bloodmobile for the first time on July 31.
