It was the house she and her family lived in for two years while the Germans occupied the city during WWII and it unveiled the horrifying truth of the Jewish persecution. On a lighter we visited a clog factory as well as a cheese factory. It all was a most enjoyable trip, well worth the money.
As I mentioned, the other type of school trip is during school time and educational in design. Before the end of school (July 18) we will take / 40 students to Germany. Among the S many things we will see are the Gutenberg Bible, the first to be printed by John Gutenberg, a trip down the Rhine, the longest river in Europe, and a visit to one of the many fine German vineyards.
It should prove to be a great experience, taking its place with all the other great experiences of the year. One very exciting one was just last week. All the exchange teachers living in the UK for the year (this including the Commonwealth and European teachers too) went to London to have “afternoon tea” with the Queen Mother. Many teachers were able to shake her hand and have a word with her while some even sat at her table for “tea.”
