Jack Lawson
Jack Lawson, of Richmond, died June 25 after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Lawson was born in 1907 to noted Rappahannock building contractor W. A. Lawson and his wife Norah. He left Flint Hill in the 1920s to attend the University of Virginia School of Architecture.
Mr. Lawson was a prominent Central Virginia architect, whose projects included commercial, community and educational buildings in the Charlottesville and Richmond areas. He had retired from the Richmond consulting firm of Wiley and Wilson.
He is survived by his four children, Jane Mulhauser of Alexandria, Margaret Melton of Fredericksburg, Virginia L. Lawson and James E. Lawson of Richmond, a sister Reba L. Dabney of Arlington, a brother Paul Lawson of Washington, D. C., and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Lawson was interred at Richmond’s Forest Lawn Cemetery.
