Garden Club meets

at Holiday Inn

The Rappahannock County Garden Club held its annual luncheon and business meeting June 18 at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper. Mrs. George Sharp, president, presided.

The winners of the three Garden Club scholarships were announced. Natalie Butler received the $1500 academic scholarship and Lisa Freeman and Deryk Moore each received $400 technical scholarships.

Exhibits included “Family Reunion Under the Trees,” an arrangement for a picnic table. Ribbons were presented to Mrs. C. W. Fannon, Jr., blue, Mrs. T. Morgan Johnston red, Mrs. Frank S. Gannon yellow, and Mrs. Zillah Dietel white.

In the horticulture exhibit of any flowering perennial, Mrs. Henry S. Sutherland won the blue ribbon, Mrs. Hugh Exton red, and Mrs. Zillah Dietel, Mrs. Virgil Jewell and Mrs. Franklin Hume each received a white ribbon.
