Rev. Cornwell attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary following his graduation from George Washington University in Washington, D. C. He served with the Eighth Air Force in Europe during World War II.
Mr. Cornwell and his wife, Pauline, a native of Asheville, N. C., have two children. His daughter Ann C. McCalley lives in Fredericksburg. A son James is an engineer with the electronic division of IBM Corporation, and lives in Boca Raton, Fla.
