Supervisors took a step towards controlling a hunting abuse problem at its July meeting. County game warden Jim Bankston asked the supervisors to authorize enforcement of an amendment to the Virginia code making it illegal to carry a loaded rifle or shotgun in a motor vehicle. The supervisors voted unanimously to grant Bankston’s request and authorized enforcement of the ordinance in Rappahannock County.
More than 1200 people visited Rappahannock Library Sunday during the July Fourth festivities. “By actual count 1215 people came up our new steps, walked over our new Colonial brick sidewalk and into our Rappahannock County Library on the 4th of July,” said Librarian Georgia Hufstedler.
