Student Julie Bankston thought the most fun was printing letters. “I wrote a letter to my friend Sarah. I thought the hardest was Word Invaders because if you didn’t type the letters in fast enough your base would be destroyed.”
Each day Mrs. LaCava added some new information or skill to the students’ knowledge. She purposefully waited until the next to the last day of class to teach the students how to reproduce music and sound effects such as cannon blasts.
On the last day of class students’ parents were invited to attend a play written and produced by the students. Shannon Eastham and Karen Moore originated the idea and were directors of the play. “They asked me how to spell narrator and that was the only help they asked for,” Mrs. LaCava said with a laugh.
“I had a lot of fun writing the play. The idea just came to us. It was the first time we had typed a lot on a computer,” Karen Moore said.
