Gary Brown, administrator of the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund in the Virginia Department of Health, said, “We are pleased to award money to almost half of the agencies which made requests. Five years ago we were able to fulfill only 10 percent of the requests.”
Brown also stressed that it is very important for the public to continue to support EMS agencies.
