in iy»4, to tultin her husband’s wish, Mrs. Stuart deeded the land to the Amissville Ruritan Club, which sponsored the community’s first baseball team in 1967. The only provision of the deed is that the youth be given priority in usage.

The gift became reality last Saturday when the Ruritans dedicated the field to the memory of Capt. Stuart.

After the dedication the Ruritans moved across Route 211 to the Amissville firehall where they had their 25th annual beef barbeque. Mr. Terry Terhune, the chairman in charge of the tasty event, said of the work done by his fellow Ruritans: “It was like looking for a spare tire when you get a flat and coming back to find it already inflated and ready to go.”

Mr. Terhune added that the club has often thought of putting out a recipe booklet on how to do a barbeque to share some to the knowledge
