Mike Massie, himself a candidate for supervisor from Hampton District in the November elections, endorsed Mr. Sharp. “I recommend Alex. He’s a good businessman, and it’s important to have a person on the School Board who is accustomed to dealing with financial matters.” He told the supervisors that in his campaigning rounds he’d spoken at length with Mr. Sharp, uand he let me know that if I wasn’t strong on schools, he wasn’t going to vote for me.”
