CMH offers

prenatal class

A series of six free classes for expectant parents will begin July 1 and run through August 5 at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The Preparation of Parenthood Course is being taught in conjunction with the Culpeper County Health Department in the hospital conference room on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30.

Designed for expectant parents who want to learn about the process of childbirth and related topics, the course is sponsored by the March of Dimes and follows Red Cross guidelines. JoAnne Russell, RN, and Ruth Partlow, LPN, will discuss prenatal care, Lamaae breathing techniques, medications and drugs, labor and delivery, postpartum care and newborn care.

Couples in the classes will view a film on childbirth and take a tour of the obstetric unit at CMH, including the birthing room and the labor and delivery suite.
