The Rappahannock Welfare

Board unanimously authorized Social Services Director Elizabeth Buntin to contract with Chapter Ten Mental Health and Retardation Board to purchase juvenile counseling and other services for the county. Title 20 funds allocated to Rappahannock will be used to buy the services and the county’s match will be covered by donated funds provided through Chapter Ten instead of with local tax dollars.

At a joint meeting Monday

night with the Water and Sewer Authority, the Rappahannock supervisors approved an agreement to lend up to $105,000 to the WSA to pay for design work on Sperryville’s sewer system. Under the terms of the agreement, which runs from July 1, 1982, to July 1, 1983, money will be lent at no interest with the WSA’s property in Sperryville as collateral.

The Rappahannock Lions Club will hold an auction Friday, June 25, to benefit Lions Club projects. The auctioneer for the sale, beginning at 7:30, will be John Walker Jenkins, and the location will be his auction house in Washington.
