Flexercise and aerobic classes
A new six-week series of flexercise and aerobic dance classes began Tuesday at the Flint Hill fire hall. Aerobic dance classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Flexercise classes will.be at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Summer reading program
READiscover-U.S.-Celebrate started last Wednesday at the Rappahannock Library. There are new books to discover and there will be stories, crafts, music and contests, a library spokesman said.
On July 8 John Cheatwood, professional story teller, will ^entertain his audience with “Jack Tales” and Uncle Remus stories.
The Summer Reading Program will run for seven more weeks each Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. Children from ages 3 to 12 who have not signed up should do so now and not miss another session, the spokesman added. Visit the library or call 675-3780 to sign up.
Washington Business Council meets
The Washington Business Council will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Heritage House.
Loan Closet has items available

4-H summer camps
4-H Junior Camp for ages 9-12 will be held August 10-14 at the 4-H Center near Front Royal. The cost for the week of overnight camp is $70 and registration deadline is July 2.
4-H Junior High Camp for grades 7-9 will be held August 20-September 3 at the 4-H Center. Cost for camp is $70, and registration deadline is July 15. Call the Extension Office at 675-3619 or come by to pick up a form for either camp.
New beginnercise classes
A new exercise-to-music class began Wednesday at the Flint Hill fire hall. These classes are for people who are just beginning to exercise and are geared to slowly stretch out the muscles while using proper breathing to gain some benefit for heart and lungs. The half hour classes meet Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. and will continue through July 31. The fee for the six-week series will be $20. Call Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887 for more information.
Transformation: Folktale
into theatre
RAAC’s Artists’ Forum Series presents the artistic director of The Golden Key Performance Group, Julie Portman, who will lead a day-long workshop in the art of transforming a folktale into a theatrical presentation. Using gesture, acting, live music and movement, the participants will explore the rich images that form the inner meaning of the folktale. Please bring your favorite folktale!
Live music will be performed by Mike Vargas, a member of The Golden Key.
