Ruritans plan
barbecue July 4
The Fourth of July will again be celebrated in Amissville with good, old-fashioned patriotism and a oneof-a-kind pit-cooked beef barbecue.
The 26-year history of this event has built for it a reputation, and a cuisine, unmatched in the Piedmont. Prime sirloin is slow-cooked on hot stones for more than 24 hours. Its smoky flavor is farther enhanced by the Ruritan Club’s secret sauce, made only once a year for this occasion.
