Ihe delegate from Virginias 62nd District recommended that full-spectrum testing for water quality be required for all new wells and offered as an option on all real estate transfers, with tests performed at cost by a certified and approved state laboratory. He also proposed that money be included in the state’s 1988-89 budget for the appropriate agencies to test private water supplies in areas of known or suspected contamination throughout the state. “We simply cannot say to the 80 percent of our citizens who are drinking groundwater that their health ijs not as important to us as their.neighbor whose water comes from a public supply whose punt* we routinely monitor.”
