daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Cargill Jr. of Moneta, Va., and granddaughter of Mrs. T.C. Lea of Washington, Va., was graduated summa cum laude from James Madison University in Harrisonburg on August 5 with a BS degree in speech pathology.
Mary Cleverley announces that the Office of the Registrar will be open August 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. for the purpose of registering voters in Hampton District. There will be evening registration hours for all other districts, which will be announced later.

The Washington Town
Council discussed dogs running at large in the town at its August meeting, and set a public hearing on a proposed ordinance addressing the problem. The hearing will be at the next town council meeting, Wednesday, Septembers, at 7:30.
Lee Nettles, director of the Rappahannock Mental Health Clinic, was a guest lecturer August 16 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, where he discussed The Disturbed and Unruly Patient and Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
