In other action at their board meeting August 3, the supervisors:
• Granted a special exception permit to Mabelle Keyes for subdivision of 180 acres into four lots and residue. The exception is required because two lots are 22 acres each, just below the minimum 25-acre size for an agricultural zone. However, the overall density of one dwelling unit per 25 acres is not exceeded by the subdivision, which meets all Health Department and Transportation Department standards and local zoning requirements on road frontage, according to Mr. McCarthy.
• Enacted an amendment to the county’s land use assessment ordinance to require a $5 yearly revalidation fee to process applications for renewal.
• Postponed action on a proposed abandoned car removal program until next month while authorizing Mr. McCarthy to solicit bids on hauling inoperable vehicles from the county.
