Success at the Library
This week the Rappahannock County Library will conclude its summer reading program with a presentation by “Puppets by Pizzazz,” a popular touring troupe which played to rave reviews from both parents and children at the library last summer.
We’d like to add our own rave review of the library’s summer reading program.
According to librarian Dee Brents, attendance at the Wednesday morning programs has averaged about 70 children, up considerably from last year’s figures. When storyteller John Cheatwood stopped by, more than 100 children listened in rapt attention.
We think that attendance in those numbers makes the program a success in anyone’s book. In a county of just over 6,000 population, getting 100 children to attend any event is quite a feat.
