The 127 delegates, all over 60 years of age, each representing one of Virginia’s cities or counties, were housed in the Virginia Commonwealth University student dormitory, and ate breakfast in the school’s cafeteria. Other meals were served in various parts of the city.
A remark overheard by one of the delegates seemed to sum up the event for all the legislators: “The whole experience was very worthwhile, except that there were so many old people around.”
Mr. Holschuh served as Rappahannock County’s delegate to the Silver-Haired Legislature. He is a ^ retired Navy captain, and both he and his wife Helen are active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program sponsored by the RappahannockRapidan Community Services Center. Mr. Holschuh has also served for six years as the volunteer editor of the Voice of Experience, a newsletter for and about seniors published by RRC SC.
