There’s an old saying which sums up the situation: “See a man as he is and he will remain stagnant. See him as what he is capable of being and you help him grow.”
Unfortunately, all too often it seems to be our own view of ourselves which holds us back. In that case, it takes a crisis, sometime a major one, to make us change our perspective in order to reevaluate the situation and decide to make that positive change.
