Among the reasons cited by the sheriff was the cost and quality of the meals now being served. He told the Board of Supervisors that the jail’s inmates, who eat meals supplied by the Hampton Inn under a contract with the county, have repeatedly complained about the food. He added that “foreign objects” have been found in the meals.

Mrs. Cebula denied the allegations, and appeared before the board at its February meeting, supported by a group of county residents and a petition with 116 signatures.
