Dedication set
for baptistry
A special serviee will be held Sunday, March 20, at Washington Baptist Church to celebrate the dedication of the church’s new baptistry. The dedication will take place, according to the church’s pastor, Rev. Larry Hovis, with a litany during the 11 a.m. service.
A group of volunteers from the church’s congregation, working with carpenter Mike Taubenberger, completed the installation of the 600-gallon tub early this week. The baptistry was sunk into the floor of the church’s pulpit area, where it will be covered with removable panels when not in use.
“It was a big effort,” said Rev. Hovis of the construction job. He gave credit to a group of volunteers from the church, who contributed time and muscle to dig the hole intt which was poured the concrete foundation to support the tub. “It was a
