Chester Gap elects officers
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department announced the election of its officers for the year. Serving as administrative officers will be Hubert Gilkey, president; Earl Williams, vice president; Bradley Williams, treasurer; Leslie Krob, secretary. The company's line officers are Todd Brown, chief; Bert Gilkey, first assistant chief; Cecil Smoot, second assistant chief; David Dunn, captain; Gary Pearson, lieutenant; Chris Williams, squad captain; Patty Dunn, squad lieutenant. Dr. John Einarson, the district director of the Virginia Department of Health, requests that anyone who might have donated a kitten to or purchased a kitten from Little Pal's Pet Shop in Warrenton during December 1988 (or that approximate time) please contact the Fauquier County Health Department (3474512 or 347-5689) or the pet shop (3473326) immediately. Dr. Einarson said that there is some evidence that one of the kittens in the shop during that period may have been exposed to rabies. Anyone with questions concerning the situation should contact the Fauquier County Health Department for further information.
Slaughter’s aide here Feb. 8
Jane Clatterbuck, Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr.'s district representative, will make her monthly visit to Rappahannock County on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Mrs. Clatterbuck will be at the Rappahannock County Courthouse from 10:30-11:30 a.m. She will be available to talk with constituents who have problems of a federal nature, such as Social Security, the Department of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization Service, Internal Revenue Service, Veteran's Administration or other federal agency. Residents with opinions on matters under consideration by the U.S. Congress are also encouraged to stop by and speak with Mrs. Clatterbuck.
