Because oats are in short supply, limited cross-compliance requirements will not be in effect for 1989crop oats, according to Linda Henry, executive director of the county’s ASCS committee.
This means that farm program participants may have an acreage planted to oats in excess of the crop acreage base for oats for a farm without sacrificing their eligibility for other program crop benefits.
Ms. Henry said limited crosscompliance requirements are in effect for all other program crops, including barley, meaning that the planted acreages of non-participating program crops on the farm may not exceed the crop acreage bases of those crops.
