Airbrush demonstration
Middle Street Gallery is sponsoring a free airbrush demonstration by commercial artist Steve Wagner Thursday, Feb. 9, (Please note change from Jan. 26) at 8 p.m. Wagner’s illustrations have appeared in The Washington Post and numerous international publications. The demonstration will take place at Sycamore Hill, the Wagner residence just east of Washington on Route 211. It is free of charge and open to the public. Call 675-3267 for information.

Shrove Tuesday pancake supper
A Shrove Tuesday pancake supper will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church parish hall on Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. An allyou-can-eat for adults will be $4 and children under 12 $2. “Chow down before Lent,” said a supper organizer.

Community Lenten services
Five of the county’s churches have joined together to sponsor a series of interdenominational Lenten services, beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The series will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church each Wednesday, beginning with a potluck supper at 6:15 p.m. A short, inspirational lesson wall be delivered by one of the sponsoring pastors following the supper. Baby-sitting will be available, and the public is invited to attend. The sponsoring churches are Trinity Episcopal, Washington Baptist, St. Peter’s Catholic Mission, Rappahannock’s United Methodist parish, and Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church.
