Treat your heart for Valentine s
The Rappahannock County Health Department will sponsor a “Be Good to Your Heart” fair on Valentine’s Day Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall from 10 a.nu to 2 p.m. The Rappahannock County Extension Office and The Plains Pharmacy will also be participating. Blood pressure checks, random glucose testing, information about reducing stress, “Healthy Heart” diets and weight reduction will be offered. Information on exercise and how to quit smoking will also be available. All of the above are free. Serum cholesterol screening will be offered for a $5.50 fee and results are available within five minutes. Transit system hearing
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center will hold a public hearing on Friday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. to seek input and comments on its applications for continued funding for its Transit Sys-, tern through UMTA Section 18. This hearing will be conducted at the Center’s offices, 401 South Main Street, Culpeper.
Western Native American art
The Middle Street Gallery is hosting a slide presentation by Barbara Stinson of “The Art of the Western Native American” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 at the Gay Street Theater. Barbara Stinson' has been collecting and traveling in the West for 50 years. Following1 the slide presentation, a reception and opening of her show which will1 run through Feb. 26 will be held at the Middle Street Gallery. A dona-> tion of $2 is requested.
