Virginia Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr., (R-7th) reintroduced a bill on Tuesday, Jan. 31 to give federal employees the option of purchasing group long-term care insurance.
Rep. Slaughter’s bill would offer group long-term care insurance to the 650,000 federal employees who are 50 years of age or older, as well as their spouses. It would permit these employees to voluntarily convert a portion of their federal life insurance to long-term care coverage on a tax-free basis. *
