! The Virginia Commission for the ^Arts announced a June 1 deadline for Teacher Incentive Grant applications.
• Teacher Incentive Grants, ^according to a commission spokesman, provide financial assistance to .teachers who wish to explore new jways of incorporating the arts into the basic curriculum. Funds may be lused to provide special arts rejsources or programming, to hire artists or arts consultants, or to ^purchase supplies for specific arts (projects. Projects may involve creative writing, dance, music, theater, ;visual arts, or a combination of arts ■disciplines. ; Any certified elementary or secondary school teacher, in any field, employed by a Virginia educational ^institution (K-12) is eligible to apply. The maximum award is $300.
