With public health at stake, I do not think we should take the word of the Health Department or anyone else that everything is fine when no soil tests have been performed. I didn’t want someone’s word; I wanted to see test results. But no tests had been run by anyone. Worse yet, none were agreed to as a condition of the permit, which was immediately approved.
The Rappahannock News apparently thinks this is a sound way to proceed. I, for one, do not.
