Trooper Moore said that after the impact the Toyota skidded backwards about 45 feet, coming to rest on the bank of the Thornton River. The Camaro spun around and came to rest facing in the opposite direction, resting nearly in the Toyota’s skid marks, he added.
The driver and a passenger in the Toyota, also a juvenile, as well as Mr. Jenkins, were taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital, where the passenger was treated for facial cuts. The two drivers were not seriously injured. Fire and rescue personnel from the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department, Sperryville Rescue Squad and Washington Fire Department responded to the accident.
Trooper Moore estimated damage to the Toyota at $6,000, and damage to the Camaro at $2,000.
