L.V. Merrill, proprietor of

Merrill Motor Company at Washington, Va., is celebrating his 41st year as a Ford Dealer in Rappahannock County. He has just been joined by Netus “Sonny” Brown of Sperry ville as salesman and assistant manager to the firm. Mr. Merrill began his sales career when Model A’s cost about $300 wholesale, he said, and many, many Fords have been marketed by him. He has a full service garage and service station in connection with his dealership and has handled Standard Oil products for even a longer period of time.

Jim Bankston has assumed

the duties of Game Warden for Rappahannock County, just in time for the opening of trout season. His appointment was effective Monday, March 31. Jim succeeds former Warden, Irvin L. Kenyon, Jr. who has taken a post in wildlife management, sitll under the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries.

A massive county-wide spring cleanup campaign is being planned for the week of April 1320 with a special concentration of concerted effort on Saturday, April 19. Dr. Noel Laing is coordinator for the cleanup. Much help will be needed to complete the cleanup and all who will assist may contact an area captain.
