seeks artists
The 1990-91 Tour Directory of performing artists is now available from the Virginia Commission for the Arts. The deadline to apply to be listed in the 1991-92 edition is June 15.
The 1990-91 directory, the 11th edition of the book, lists 38 performing arts individuals and organizations offering dance, music, theater, and multi-disciplinary programs for touring throughout the state. Artist and ensembles are chosen on a competitive basis for their high artistic quality, good management, and touring experience, according to a commission spokesman.
Not-for-profit arts and community organizations and educational institutions may apply to the Virginia Commission for the Arts for partial funding to present any of these performers. For-profit organizations may also take advantage of the book as a resource, though they are ineligible for funding.
Artists and ensembles who wish to apply to be listed in the next edition of the Tour Directory should contact the Commission for application forms. Applications must be in the received in the Commission office by 5 p.m., June 15.
