To tie together a grouping of family photos during a recent decorating job, Yeck took tiny ribbon and made a loopy bow at the top of each frame, then draped the ribbon between pictures.
Yeck says like mediums should be grouped together; he finds combinations of oil paintings, lithographs and photographies “jarring."
“They don’t have to be like subject, but it makes it more pleasant. If you're doing a grouping of scenics, that’s better than having a scene of the Teton Mountains and then Aunt Mabel. It looks a little strange,” Yeck says.
Yeck says he frequently sees photo groupings that “fall off at the edges" and do not fill a space.
“When we see them, we hope that they’re having more children or grandchildren so they can finish up that wall,” he says.
“People photographs I’m not wild about being in main living areas. I think they should be in family rooms and more casual areas,” Yeck says of what he terms “rogues' galleries
