a special window,,such as stained glass, is a worthy aeUffretic investment. Frank Lloyd Wright knew the value of stained glass and incorporated it in many of his designs.

Just one small window of etched, beveled, crackled or stained glass lends a special finishing touch. You can buy a window with a ready-made design or have one designed especially for your home

One of the first finishing touches people consider is hanging artwork and arranging favorite objects.

“Everything that is visible is worth arranging, ” says Guild. That includes books, pottery, objets d’art, flowers and artwork.

The problem is that most of us timidly scatter objects throughout the room, hoping they will make some kind of personal statement.

That method is too haphazard, Guild says. You have to shift objects around a few times before you hit on just the right combination.

“The key is to experiment, relating objects by color, texture and shape — a collection of patterned jugs on a shelf, an arrangement of blue glass on a tabletop, ” she says.
