Dinunzio did all the landscaping, including a koi pond complete with a small waterfall. Ornamental shrubs and several varieties of grasses create natural borders that separate the many freeform beds of various styles, from English to Japanese.
“When I designed this garden, each little section’s a little room all of its own, and so it’s really fun because you have no idea what's on the other side,” he says of the areas hidden when viewed from one part of the garden.
One section features many hues of miniature daylilies, while another highlights flowers in shades of lavender and purple, accented by silver foliage plants. Numerous other beds showcase countless other varieties of the genus Hemerocallis.
Dinunzio underplants the lilies with small groundcovers that bloom at the same time.
