David Thornhill, grandson

of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Thornhill of Boston, found a message last Wednesday from a youngster in the midwest. While working on his grandparents farm March 19, David spotted a balloon that had landed on the Thornhill’s property. The balloon had a card attached that read “Hi balloon finder!” The message was from Troy Garver, a Weekly Reader Writing Pal in Mrs. Wilson’s class at New Concorde Elementary School, New Concorde, Ohio. As requested, David sent the card back to the youngster, using the U.S. Postal Service instead of nature’s winds on the return trip.

Rehearsals for the spring production of “Hello Dolly” are in progress nightly at Rappahannock County High School. This all school musical under the direction of Don Bomberger, will be performed April 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. at the school.
