Blankenbaker Ashby Jackson (Jack) Blankenbaker, 61, of Haywood died March 23 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He was bom in Madison County on May 8,1928. Mr. Blankenbaker was a farmer. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Haywood; Madison County Wildlife Association; and leader of 4-H Horse and Pony Club. His father was the late A. Lorton Blankenbaker. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sheron Smith Blankenbaker of Haywood; his mother, Mrs. Frances Bruce Blankenbaker of Haywood; and two step-children, Shannon Marie Duty of Reva and John P. Duty of California. Graveside services were held March 25 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Haywood. The Rev. Douglas Farmer and the Rev. Gordon George officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Rescue Squad and the Madison County Fire Dept. Clore Funeral Home handled the arrangements. The Final Tribute
