voted to add $20,000 to fund an additional sheriffs deputy so the county can participate in Planning District 9’s Drug Task Force.
The supervisors also approved increased fees for building permits and zoning fees to pay for the increased costs of the building inspection office and for increased costs of advertising for rezoning, special exceptions and special use permits.
Fees for variances, special use permits and special exceptions were raised from $75 to $120. The fees for a subdivision application were raised from $100 plus $5 per lot to $150 plus $10 per lot. Building inspection fees were increased two to three cents per square foot for those inspections which are based on square footage, and from $5 to $15 per inspection for other inspections.
During the public hearing on the budget no one from the public chose to speak. After the hearing had been closed Robert Miko came in. At the close of the meeting he complained that he hadn’t been sure when the public hearing would take place and had wanted to complain about the tax rate and rising budget.
The supervisors set another meeting for June 25 at 7 p.m. to adopt the budget, pay bills for the end of the fiscal year, and hold a public hearing on the appointment of a School Board member from Stonewall-Hawthom District. A revised verSee
