Roy was awarded the Rappahannock News Athletic Award, given each year to an athlete who has demonstrated ability at a variety of sports during his scholastic career. He has “excelled tremendously” in track, according to Gary Leake, and has received numerous awards as the team’s top field athlete and all-around track and field participant.
For the past two seasons Roy has represented the Panthers at the district and regional track meets. In addition, he has started for the past two seasons on the Panthers varsity basketball squad, and served as cocaptain this year. “He was a very consistent starter,” Coach Leake said, “and was one of our top defensive players.”
