and varsity sports — volleyball, baseball and basketball — a Girl’s State representative in her junior year, a National Honor Society member — Miss Conover spends her spare time in the Tom Frost Wing of Fauquier Hospital as a ward clerk.
“It has helped me become familiar with doctors and hospital procedures,” Miss Conover said, adding that since age 12 she has been interested in the field of medicine, hoping to work with children either as a surgeon or as a researcher on diseases.
Senior class vice-president, member of the Students Against Drunk Driving and the Varsity Club, Miss Conover said she too looks forward to college. “I went to the city school when I was younger and I liked it,” she said, adding she has visited the campus several times.
While both girls admitted they will miss friends and peers at Rappahannock, science teacher Bryon Patterson was chosen by both as a memorable educator.
“He’s a good friend and a good teacher,” Miss Conover said.
“Spring is wonderful. It makes you feel young enough to do all the things you're old enough to know you can’t. ”
