School curriculum meeting
A meeting of "Parents as Partners in Learning" will be held at the Child Care and Learning Center on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. The topic will be a discussion of ways that parents can become postively involved in their children's education and to think about current curriculum issues. Festival in Amissville
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a festival and craft show on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30. The event will feature live music, arts and crafts, an antique and classic car show, blood pressure testing and cholesterol screening, and a petting zoo for children. It will be held at the fire hall and carnival grounds on U.S. 211, hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
